Training
Roots to Rapids connects youth with instructors from diverse communities who bring lived experience, leadership, and heart to the river.
This 5 week program will start in May and run into June with weekly training sessions beginning on flat water building up to moving water on the Bow River.
Splash, play, and learn the basics of kayaking in a welcoming space led by diverse instructors who reflect our community. We focus on fun, foundational river safety, and feeling at home on the water—with simple paddling games, confidence‑building activities, and hot chocolate to warm up after.
